Kabuki Guns Burlesque

The KGB was never this much fun! Forget about all those big fur hats and sour pusses! Calgary's premier and original burlesque troupe was born in January of 2004 to instructor/choreographer Bunny Bunnotzi, and Kabuki Guns Burlesque has been movin', shimmyin' and shakin' all over ever since.

Reminiscent of the world's first bellydancer come burlesque star Little Egypt, the troupe's founder is a classically trained bellydancer extraordinaire. Mesmerizing Calgary's unsuspecting diners by night, and instructing her hip shakin' mamas in the fine art by day, she has truly made a living for the last 13 years using those hips. And those hips keep on going as Bunny Bunnotzi has returned from the other side of the planet to entertain Canadian audiences once again.

Though there are many faces and interpretations of burlesque, the KGB's mission is to bring an "authentic as possible without having actually been there ourselves" (jeez, we're not THAT old) peek at the sultry and saucy artform affectionately known as the "striptease" to our audiences.

With a teeny bit of a history lesson at the start of each show (it's an educational program don't ya know?!) Kabuki Guns Burlesque aims to bring the audience back in time to an era when there was still a little mystery, a little intrigue left to sex and sexuality. Think the dirty jazz, ganster ridden naughtiness of 1930's prohibition times. How about the swingin' big band, wholesome patriotism of a post wartime 1940's? Conjure up the bump and grind of a burgeoning Las Vegas in the 1950's. Perhaps you prefer the swagger and cool of the mod laced go-go craze of the 1960's?

From specifically themed shows, to corporate events, to eye candy and dancin' dollies for bands, the KGB have an extensive tickle trunk full of costumes, a girl for every mood, and more numbers than Albert freakin' Einstein would know what to do with. Introducing the belles of the ball; Cherry Whip, Daisy DeVille, Turnaround Trixie, Roxxy Sweet, Holli Day, Boom Boom Lacey, our lovely maid Tia Maria, MC Candie Stixxx and of course, our founder, Bunny Bunnotzi. A special thanks to our wardrobe mistress Gigi and our seamstress Miss Lily Love!
